Survive the Sneezin' Season

Allergies may be worse during this time of year because of the hot, dry summer weather. Avoiding the outdoors is the best way to keep our allergies at bay, but if we must be outside, here are some tips:

  • Keep doors and windows closed during allergy season
  • Use an air condition and HEPA filter to regulate temperature and clean the air
  • Check the pollen count before venturing outside
  • Try to do outdoor activities in the afternoon (when pollen is less active)
  • When you come in from being outdoors, shower immediately
  • Change your clothes after being outdoors, and leave your shoes outside
  • Give pets who are outside a bath regularly
  • Choose easy-to-clean furnishings that won’t collect dust
